About the Central Committee
The Washington County Democratic Central Committee is widely considered to be one of the most active and most influential political committees in Arkansas.
The Central Committee meets at 6:00 PM on the third Monday of each month at Homewood Suites (map) in Fayetteville.
Central Committee Leadership
Central Committee leadership members serve two-year terms. Committee rules dictate that the Chair and Vice-Chair be of opposite sex.

Larry DeLashmit, a veteran of the US Army, was elected Chair of the Central Committee in June 2010. Larry is an outspoken advocate for equality and has traveled across the country as part of Operation Free, a coalition of veterans and national security organizations advocating energy independence.

Lynn Donald Carver, Program Director for Arkansas Support Network, Inc., has served as Vice Chair of the Central Committee since 2006.

Lauren Marquette was elected Treasurer of the Central Committee in October 2009. A founding member of the Northwest Arkansas chapter of Democrats Work, Lauren works for the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce.

Chris Burks, elected Secretary in 2008, is currently a student at the University of Arkansas School of Law.
